Sorry to inform you that the outdoor meeting at Königsplatz is cancelled because of unstable weather. A new date will be announced as soon as possible and we will aim to keep the same line-up of speakers and participants that we already had planned. Apologies to all of you for the constant reshuffling and thanks for your understanding.
In the meantime enjoy the Bavarian monsoon season and we’ll see you at the upcoming regular meeting on August 1st at 19:00 in our club room at Nymphenburger Str 21A.
We are moving the Königsplatz event to Thursday July 27th, 2017 at 19:00 instead of Tuesday the 25th. The weather forecast for Tuesday is not looking so good. Things should be alright on Thursday.
Rescheduling the outdoor date this week instead of next (as previously announced) will also allow us to retain the regular meeting on August 1st, which has been fully booked for quite a while.
Thanks to all the participants (so far almost everyone) who have been able to adjust their schedules for Thursday. We are definitely in good shape as far as our agenda is concerned. There is going to be a special theme-oriented table topics session and of course great speeches in a unique setting, so don’t miss it!
Looking forward to seeing as many of you there as possible on the steps of the Glyptothek, which is the building straight across on the North side of the Platz!
It will be an evening to remember!
It´s summertime, the weather is fine and it´s about that time…. to hold our annual outdoor meeting at Königsplatz!
The key to a successful outdoor event is the weather! And anyone who has lived in Munich for a while knows that predicting the weather around here can be tricky. So here’s the plan;
We are going to name two dates, if the first one gets rained out we will go with the follow-up date one week later. Therefore the target date for our outdoor meeting will be Tuesday, July 25th at 19:00! The follow up date, in case of rain, will be August 1st.
This year, we will hold our meeting on the steps of the Glyptothek, which is the building straight across on the North side of the Platz.
For those who seek some more inspiration, check our last year´s outdoor meeting!
So come one come all and recapture the feeling of the ancients of Greece and Rome, speaking outdoors on the sun-warmed stone steps of a magnificent columned structure!
Sometime in the future we will switch to the brandnew Toastmasters Pathways educational programme for a more specialized learning experience.
District 57 did a pilot in February this year. Hear what their members say about Pathways: First Pathways testimonials
You will soon hear more about Pathways at the Munich Toastmasters club.

Dear Munich Toastmasters,
On our last meeting on 24th January 2017 we were able to observe how one of our dear members achieved the Competent Communicator award by Toastmasters International. The first important step in the Toastmaster speaking career. Edgar, well done! Congratulations!
Edgar delivered a wonderful and inspiring speach about taking failures in your life. And he did this in a very personal way be telling us a bit of his life and his recent failures. The three tips he gave us in his speech on how to take failures were the following:
- Accept them
- Find the driving force
- Work on yourself
What a wonderful insight from one of our members. The Comptent Communicator was well deserved and I look forward to seeing other members of our club reaching this level and going even beyond it.
After the Competent Communicator level a Toastmaster can work on many advanced speaking projects like “The Entertaining Speech”, “Speeches by Managment”, “Technical Presentations”, “Storytelling”, etc.
Who will be next?
See you soon, take care
